Northwestern Polytechnical University’s School of Integrated Circuits And Microelectronics, is located in Xi’an, Shaanxi Province. In 2015, it was approved as one of China’s first 26 National Demonstration Schools of Microelectronics. In 2019, the School was officially established as an independent college. It has also been approved as a National Integrated Circuit Talent Training Base, one of only 20 in China, and as the National-Local Joint Engineering Research Center for Integrated Circuit Technology.
The School has a strong foundation in education, discipline development, and scientific research. It leads the development of the first-level discipline of Integrated Circuit Science and Engineering and participates in the development of Electronic Science and Technology. It offers two undergraduate programs: Microelectronics Science and Engineering, a national first-class undergraduate program, and Integrated Circuit Design and Integrated Systems.
With distinctive strengths in military and aerospace integrated circuits, special micro-electromechanical systems for aviation and aerospace, and optoelectronic integrated chips and microsystems, the School has undertaken a number of major national research projects and has been deeply involved in major national engineering programs. It works closely with leading research institutes and enterprises.
The School is committed to cultivating high-caliber talent in the field of integrated circuits. Its students are known for their solid academic foundation and strong professional competence. More than 70% of undergraduates pursue further studies, and the employment rate of graduate students reaches 100%. The School also conducts joint training programs with institutions such as the National University of Singapore and City University of Hong Kong, helping students broaden their international perspectives.
Looking ahead, the School will continue to promote the integrated development of education, science and technology, and talent, and strive to build itself into a first-class school with distinctive strengths in aerospace, aviation and navigation.
